The importance of self Massage......

Lately a number of of my youth players on my soccer team have been experiencing tight and achy muscles around their knee caps and in the middle (or belly of) their hamstrings. This suggests more often than not muscle overuse and fatigue.

The best way to minimize injury and maximize athletic performance is to institute some form of active recovery. That can range from rest, healthy food intake, or getting soft tissue work performed on your muscles.

One of the simplest ways to recover after strenuous activity is to learn how to perform self-help massage therapy in the form of a massage roller. ( see inset)
