I wanted to share with you this blog about foods that you and I should be eating regularly in our diets. Eating these foods helps insure that you getting the necessary nutrients to function and to help our bodies operate at their highest levels possible. These foods will support your immune system, regulate your blood sugar, provide energy and make you feel good.
Some of these foods will tempt your palette, others not as much. But, eating some or all of these foods will make a huge difference in your health. If their are certain foods you don't like we'll need to find a substitute so that you will get all the benefits.
I am listing the foods by category, group, serving, essential nutrient, health benefit.
Vegetables
- Romaine Lettuce: 6 leaves, minerals, regulate blood
- Tomatoes: itself, sauce, paste, juice, products serving size, Lycopene = anti-oxidant
Fruit
- Strawberries: 1 cup, Vitamin C = anti oxidant
- Apples: Itself, minerals = anti oxidant
Protein
- Soy: Milk, tofu, edamame, tempeh
- Eggs: 1 egg, Lutein & zeaxanthin = (anti-oxidants)
Nuts
- Almonds:" handful", Vitamin E = (anti-oxidants)
- Walnuts:"handful", alpha-linolenic, omega 3's, melatonin
Fat
- Dark Chocolate: 1 cup, 72% (+), can be drunk, flavonoids good for circulation
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil: 1-2 tbs, essential fatty acids (mono-unsaturated), lowers cholesterol
Grains
- Whole Grains: Bread, pasta,cereal, snacks. Make sure on the list of ingredients that "whole grains" is listed first.
If your going to make food choices that have high fat, high refined sugars (carbohydrate) counter act them by eating the above foods. Your body and NEXT LEVEL will thank you.
