Determining your BMI (body mass index) and our BMR (basal metabolic rate)

10/28/10

For those of you out there trying to figure out how many calories you need to keep your body functioning on a daily basis I have a website that may help you to determine your particular needs.

If your a youth athlete or active adult participating in activity 2 - 3 times a week add an additional 50 -100 calories. Why? Because active individuals overall consume more bodily calories. Therefore, the energy needs of athletes and recreational adults are slightly different. The difference being for the lay person they are operating at an activity level less than 2 times a week.

Please check it out and share your thoughts.
